I love that I can get Jack to have a good breakfast just by fixing him a smoothie in the mornings. This morning he finished off an entire cup full (plus a little extra)!

Jack really wanted to play with Alex in his room this afternoon... so he decided he'd supervise Alex while he finished his homework. You know... just to make sure he got finished in a timely manner.

Valentine's Day cupcakes. I just decided kinda spur of the moment to make some. I really don't "do" Valentine's Day... I think it's a pretty stupid holiday, to be perfectly honest (why how the one you love how much you love them on one specific day rather than everyday?). However, my distaste for the day aside, I knew the boys would like a little treat. Turns out Alex had already had his fill of sugar for the day, if not the week.... :)

Alex has become more and more interested in my Words With Friends games, so I picked up Scrabble for us to play together. Tonight... after MUCH pouting on his part... we finally got a chance to play our first game. It was a short one, but I think he enjoyed it.

This is from one of my favorite songs... and it pretty much sums up the week. It was crazy! I've been one day ahead of myself all week long, which made for a pretty big letdown come Thursday evening (I thought it was Friday). One notable thing from Friday... we finally got the tags for my truck! YAY!

SPEECH! Jack has been SO excited to go back to speech. He loves playing with the toys... both in speech and in the waiting area.

Took Jack for a haircut today. He's been begging for one since Alex got his cut last week. I was so proud of him, too. He sat in the chair all by himself! That's a first!

Apparently Lego has made a miniature version of my dad... at least, they have in Jack's mind. He was playing with this guy earlier this morning and informed me that it was "Big Daddy". He's got gray hair and glasses just like my dad... I guess I can see where he's coming from. :)

Despicable Me has become of one Jack's favorite movies. It's been on at least once a day for the past I don't even know how long. It's a good thing I think it's pretty cute, too!

Jack didn't sleep well AT ALL last night and wound up napping for nearly THREE hours! By the looks of him, I think it's safe to say that he slept pretty hard...

Jonathan decided to try to play a trick on Alex tonight. He put a twist tie around the sprayer at the kitchen sink, making it spray whenever someone turned the faucet on. Well, his goal was to prank Alex. It didn't quite work out as he planned, though. He sent Alex in to do some random, unnecessary task thinking Alex would just turn the water on and not notice the sprayer. Little did he realize that Alex thinks he's supposed to use the sprayer for rinsing everything, so of course he noticed it right away. I'd walked into the kitchen by this point (no way was I gonna miss out on him getting pranked) and he showed it to me and asked why it was there.... and then proceeded to take it off. We all laughed and then Jonathan put it back on to show him why it was there.... and sprayed him in the process. Alex thought it was pretty funny, however he was not very pleased that he got wet in the process.

Couldn't even tell you what we did today.... sad, huh? I'm sure this little guy was getting into something, though.

I actually took this for the Joy of Love class thing that I'm doing during the month of February. Today's prompt was "how they look". I figured it'd be nice to remember how they look.... Alex at 7 years, 9 months and Jack at 2 years, 4 months.

This is where I've spent the good bit of the morning/early afternoon.... on the phone (usually on hold for insane periods of time) and at the computer trying desperately to get the needed information to get my vehicle registered in the state of Maryland. See... my Arizona tag... it expires TODAY. Yeah. We thought getting the vehicle registered here would be a simple process, pretty much like it is anywhere else we've lived in the past, but it SO is not. It's ridiculous the number of hoops one has to jump through. It's also ridiculous that the item we needed from Arizona takes two weeks to get to us even when it's electronically generated (which is supposed to make the process quicker). Ummmm, what?! Hopefully, what we need will be here soon... until then, I'll be driving Jonathan's little "square" around town and he'll be bumming a ride to and from work from one of our friends that works with him.

I love Fat Witch brownies. I mean... big, puffy heart, LOVE these brownies. In particular, I love the blondies aka Blonde Witches. So, when I ran across a recipe for these particular blondies, I HAD to try it out. Mine didn't turn out exactly right... they were still ok, but definitely NOT Fat Witch quality. It helps to actually read the recipe correctly and not add 1 1/3 cup too many chocolate chips. Yeah. The recipe called for 2/3c chocolate chips... I misread that as TWO cups of chocolate chips, which is pretty much an entire bag. I may try them again... but then again, I may just order them straight from the source instead. :)

Out of the mouth of Jack today:
*Jack was standing in the doorway of the pantry trying to decide on a snack when I walked up behind him to try to hurry him up a little bit. He turned around, looked up and pointed at me and said "Wait a second, ma." Just so matter-of-factly. Silly kid.
*He woke up from his nap and started calling for me to come get him. As I walked up the stairs to get him, he pointed to his bed and said, "I all done in bed."
This next one is my favorite... and let me preface it with this. He's NEVER said I love you before.
*We were sitting on the couch watching Despicable Me for the millionth time and I said, "I love you, Jack." He said, "uh-huh" (which is his usual reply) "I love you too, ma." Now, it comes out fairly mumbly but I knew exactly what he said. And I admit... I teared up a little. It's my favorite thing to hear him say now.
